Mens League The top game in the men's league was the clash between Timbermann Tigers, looking to bounce back from their defeat last week by Ron Smiths Turkey's, take on Outback Hoppers. In a blistering opening quarter, it was Tigers who took control of the game and helped by 10 points from Svetlin Krastev they held a 23 -12 point at the end of the quarter. The second quarter saw Tigers continue to dominate the game and by half time they had opened up a 21 point lead, 46-25. The start of the third quarter saw Hoppers come more into the game and with their big inside men Richard Smith and Steve Christian beginning to find their form they reduced the Tigers lead to 12 points, to leave the score 57 - 45 going into the final quarter. With Chris Wolfendale hitting 2 big '3-pointers' in the final quarter, Hoppers had reduced the deficit to 6 points with four minutes left on the clock, but it was the Tigers who held their nerve to take the game 69-57. Top scorers for Tigers were Svetlin Krastev and Andy Holton with 22 and 14 points respectively, while Chris Wolfendale with 22 points led the way in scoring for Hoppers. The other two men's games saw old rivals Microgaming Cavaliers inflict a first defeat of the season on Ron Smith's Turkeys with a 60-48 victory, while in a friendly game Western Warriors recorded a one point victory against Pinoy Ram, 44-43. Junior League The junior league games played saw West 1 record a run away 81-15 victory against a gallant Southern team who struggled to cope with the height advantage of the Western team. The second junior game was a much closer affair with GB'z winning against GB'a 44-35, in a game that was close throughout it was only in the final quarter that the GB'z team pulled away from their rivals.

Men's League Another nail-biting game kept the crowds guessing in this week's Men's League as the Ron Smith's Turkeys took on Outback Hoppers. The flow of the game was set quickly with Hoppers' Chris Wolfendale scoring a 3-pointer in the first minute only to have Paul Ellison mirror it with a 3 for Turkeys a few seconds later. Both teams played tough basketball, fighting for every rebound but the game stayed close with, Turkeys keeping a slim lead 20-19 in the 1st quarter, 36-31 by half time. The second half started with Hoppers working hard, scoring a quick basket and two free throws to draw close to Turkeys. A series of great 3-pointers brought Hoppers to the lead but Turkeys kept fighting, the 3rd quarter ending 49-51 to Hoppers. In the 4th quarter the Turkeys found their form catching up quickly with Hoppers to draw the game level 54-54. Hoppers regained the lead but some foul trouble for the Hoppers helped Turkeys turn the momentum with an unanswered 10 points. Hoppers fought valiantly in the dying seconds but it wasn't enough the game ending 70-66 to Turkeys.
