The opening matches of the Isle of Man Basketball Association 2009/10 season saw some close scores and tense time-outs as teams jostled for their initial positions in the league. The Men’s league saw action from Ron Smiths’ Turveys vs Rams, Timbermann Tigers vs Microgaming Cavaliers and GB Marvels vs Pokerstars. Meanwhile in the Junior league GB’a faced GB’z while Fellas battled Dacom and Panthers played Slammers in the Ladies League. All in all the season started strong with plenty of great games for the supporters who came to the NSC to watch.

The Isle of Man Basketball leagues got off to a thrilling start Thursday evening with close matches in the Mens, Ladies and Junior leagues at the National Sports Center, Douglas. All the results have been uploaded and the latest league tables are now available online!

 The Isle of Man Basketball Association was pleased to welcome an internationally renowned Coach to the island this summer with the arrival of Coach Jim Harrick, former head coach of UCLA Bruins. Coach Harrick was visiting the island as part of the NBC Camps Basketball camp, held in King Williams College in August.
Coach Harrick was joined by Coach Fred Crowell, Founder, President and Head Basketball Coach of NBC Camps. The two coaches joined the team at NBC Isle of Man spending a week coaching basketball players from the Isle of Man to Austria at the camp.
