February kicked off with some exciting action in the Isle of Man Basketball Leagues. The Men's League saw Pinoy Rams tackle Outback Hoppers, Microgaming Cavaliers played GB Marvels and Ron Smiths' Turkeys took on Wester Warriors.

Meanwhile in the Ladies League top of the table Fellas played Dacom and Sleepwell Slammers faced off against Panthers. The Junior League featured a battle between GB'a and Western 2.

Men's League
There were three games in the men's league played on Thursday night at the NSC, the opening game of the evening was the clash between Outback Hoppers and Pinoy Rams, with the Hoppers looking for a strong finish to the season to cement their place in the top four. A high scoring opening quarter saw the Hoppers take a four point lead , 18 - 14. The start of the second period saw the Hoppers extend their lead and they went into the half time break with a 34 - 25 lead. The third quarter, saw the Rams, with some excellent outside shooting, reduce the lead to just five points, leaving the score 49 - 44.  The final quarter was a high scoring affair, with both teams trading baskets, but it was the Hoppers who held their nerve to eventually take the game 71 - 67.

The remaining games in the men's league saw victories for the top two teams in the league, Microgaming Cavaliers and Ron Smith's Turkeys ahead of there top of the table clash next Thursday, with Cavs having a comfortable victory against GB Marvels 76 - 34, while the Turkeys recorded a 74 - 44 victory over an under strength Western Warriors team.

Ladies League
The two games in the ladies league saw Fellas continue their unbeaten run with a 50 - 36 victory against Dacom while Sleepwell Slammers continued their recent good form with a 55 - 20 victory over Panthers.

Junior League
The only game played in the junior league saw a 62 - 16 victory for GB'a against a young West 2 team.   Leading the scoring for the GB'a team was Ross Wilson with 12 points while some great shooting from Jon Hastie, saw him hit 10 points for the West 2 team.
