There was plenty of exciting action in the NSC for this Thursday's IOMBBA Basketball leagues. In the Men's League Timbermann Tigers faced Microgaming Cavaliers in a game which would either re-open the Men's league race or see Cavaliers take the title. There was also action from Western and Pinoy Rams. The Ladies league featured unbeaten Fellas against Panthers and Search & Select Saints against Dacom. Meanwhile in the Junior league there was a clash between the Western and Southern.

Men's League

The top game of Thursday evening was the clash between Microgaming Cavaliers and Timbermann Tigers, with Cavs knowing that victory would seal the league crown, while a victory for the Tigers would keep them in the hunt for the title. A nervous opening to the game by both team saw them miss easy baskets. With Paul Kilic taking control of the game from the top of the key for Cavs, they opened up a ten point lead by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was a much closer affair with the Tigers finding their form and matching the Cavs to leave the score 29 - 19 in Cavs favour at the half time break. The start of the third quarter saw the Cavs continue to control the game and with Dave Minay hitting some excellent baskets from driving along the baseline, the Tigers were unable to contain the Cavs and they extended their lead to fifteen points, 49-34 going into the fourth quarter. The final quarter saw the Cavs ease a 61 - 48 victory that gives them back to back league titles, despite the best efforts of the Tigers to get back into the game.  Top scorers for the Cavs was Dave Minay with 26 points while Glenn Holton with 9 points topped the scoring for the Tigers.

The second men's game played saw an eleven point victory 44 - 33, for Pinoy Rams over an under strength Western Warriors teams.

Ladies League

The two ladies games played saw the newly crowned league champions Fellas continue their unbeaten season with a 38 - 30 victory over Panthers, while Search and Select Saints ran out comfortable 48 - 22 winners against Dacom.

Junior League
The only junior league game played saw the West 1 team record a 56 - 16 victory over Southern to maintain their position at the top of the league standings
