Applications sought for island coaches

Under the terms of the Basketball Association’s constitution, applications are now sought for the position of Coach for the Island’s Ladies, Mens & U18s teams. The Island coaches are responsible for the training, development and selection of the Island teams, with a view to off-island competition and the International Island Games held on a biennial basis. The successful candidates should have a relevant coaching qualification, or extensive experience, and some off-island travel will be expected. The appointments are for the period up to July 2027, with a review by the Executive Committee in August 2025. 

Applications should be submitted in writing to the Association Secretary, Martin Dunne, no later than Friday 23rd February 2024. 

The Island Teams competed at the recent games in Guernsey and both Mens and Ladies gave a strong showing, with solid performances by both sides (particularly against the home nations) and the Ladies team advancing to their second bronze medal match of recent times. The Association extends it’s gratitude to the Ladies Coach, Peter Dunne, and to the Men’s Coach, Paul Ellison, for their significant contribution to the continued success of our Island Basketball Teams.
