Ravens advance as Turkeys withdraw
Turkeys season came to an unexpected end this week as notification was provided that they would be unable to field a team for Thursday’s semi-final against Wolves. A combination of factors have left Turkeys short benched and, with insufficient time to reschedule ahead of the league final, they were forced to withdraw.
Under the terms of the Senior League rules the Committee Chair, in consultation with the impacted coaches and Fixtures Secretary, decided to advance Turkeys Quarter-Final opponents, Ravens, to the next round. Ravens had a solid performance this season, matching records and tying for 3rd seed with Cavaliers and Turkeys leading into the play-offs. Their quarter-final against Turkeys led to heart-break for the emerging side though, as they lost out by 2-points to a late Turkeys surge having been ahead for most of the game. With Turkeys withdrawal Ravens will no doubt be keen to make the most of their second chance and secure a place in the Championship final on the 25th.
